UKRAINE – Deputy Mayor of Kyiv Oleksiy Reznikov said that facts are been distorted and this is why all media contact him whether Kyiv will host the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.
Well Mr Reznikov this is happening because you don’t have a press officer (neither you or NTU) to send the proper press clarifications to the international media.
Eurovision 2017 will take place in Kyiv no matter what despite what yesterday NTU Acting Director General said. Well Ukrainian politicians have to understand that they talk too much. Why don’t they just shut up and work instead of confusing everyone?
“Firstly, the city of Kyiv is completely ready to host the Song Contest. Moreover, the budget has already been allocated as subsidy from the municipal to the state budget in the amount of 200 million hryvnia for the preparation and organization of the Eurovision 2017: 50 mln – this year, 150 mln more – the next year”, – he reminded.
Blah blah blah, dear Mr Reznikov we know who’s gonna pay what for months now. You and all Ukrainian politicians keep clarifying who’s gonna draw his hand in which pocket. So can you stop repeating yourselves and give us something new? We, a bunch of Eurofans, doing our blogging for Eurovision are about to book trips to Kyiv and we need to know, should we do it or not?
Do they really think in Kyiv that we do really care how the landscape of the “x” square will be revamped and how the traffic lines will be re-designed? Why all these statements? “However, because of the Eurovision Song Contest, special attention will be given to locations where will be gathering guests of this contest and residents of the capital. For example, the landscaping around the IEC, which EBU and NTU have chosen as the venue of the main Arena and the Press-center, repair works on the Metro bridge, construction of overhead crossing above Brovarsky avenue to the IEC, introducing waterbus route and so on”, explained the deputy head of the KCSA, as if we really cared!
“I can not understand why they chose to distort the words of the Acting Director General of the NTU – Mr. Oleksandr Kharebin, and make headlines that Ukraine could lose the opportunity to host the contest, when Mr. Kharebin clearly told reporters that Ukrainian state will cope with the task and the contest will be held in Kyiv!” Let me answer you on this: because you are not acting as a team!
On the other YOLO moment of the day, Chairman of the State Committee on Television and Radio Broadcasting Oleg Nalyvayko decided that the Alasania resignation and potential replacement might cause more confusion to the organising team of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, therefore he leaves the position empty acting in it, himself! Fair and square!
“The post of the Director General of the NTU will not be filled. Commission performs the functions of the Board since 30 September. I hope that the whole management of the company, if they are responsible and have a conscience, will remain at their positions. Both media reforms: the establishment of the Public broadcaster and reform of the printed media are to be started by the end of this year, and they will be started in time. Eurovision Song Contest 2017 will take place in Ukraine, and we will host it with the full dignity”, said the head of the State Committee.
