POLAND – Polish national broadcaster revealed the rules for the national selection which is set for February 11th. Only Polish artists allowed to participate and submit songs by January 20th. The finalists will be announced on January 27th. Submitted songs cannot be aired before the national selection and artists are not allowed to participate in any other European selection. A professional jury appointed by TVP director (3-9 members) will decide the finalists which will be from 5 to 10. TVP reserves the right to invite artists to the final. There will be jury and public voting. TVP will undertake the costs of travel and accommodation of the representative and their stage performers and one manager. All other costs all be covered by the artist’s team.
BELGIUM – Belgian descent and 1988 Eurovision Song Contest participant for Luxembourg Lara Fabian performed along with the 2012 French representative, Anggun, the famous “J’y crois encore” in Brussels. Watch the amazing video of this historic meeting on stage.
ARMENIA – Few days after the declaration of Artsvik as the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest winner, Armenian public broadcaster calls for songs. Songs must be delivered by January 30 and abide by standard Eurovision rules: The song must never have been performed or broadcast. The song cannot be longer than 3:00 (give or take a few seconds)
The song can be of any genre or sung in any language. Potential songwriters can send submissions to selection@armtv.com. Once decided, the song Artsvik will sing will be revealed to the public at a later date.
BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA – Laka (Bosnia and Herzegovina 2008) releases a new song Malokrvna. The new video aired already through MTV Adria and it’s typical funny, happy song. Laka sings about an anaemic girl, who apparently is strong enough to help him walk across a beam. Edvin Kalić was responsible for the production of the video for Malokrvna.
ITALY – The Sanremo Festival 2017 is gearing up and RAI announced Tiziano Ferro as a guest to the show like he did in the 2015 edition. This is the first announcement of the super star guests for the event. Tiziano Ferro is already a superstar in Italy collaborated with artists like Jamelia, Laura Pausini and composed songs for artists like Alice, Giusy Ferreri, Baby K and Blue.
BULGARIA – BNT sent four junior reporters to Finland’s Rovaniemi, to meet with Santa Claus. Among them the 2016 Junior Eurovision representative Lidia Ganeva. The BNT filmed the meeting and prepared a documentary about Santa Claus. There were interesting questions about how is working all year with Ms Claus and how he is distributing the gifts all around the world. You can see footage of the documentary on the BNT website.
