ITALY – According to GAY.IT readers, Torino should host Eurovision 2022 and Alessandro Cattelan should be the host of the event.
Let’s not forget that it is a common secret that RAI always wanted Torino to host the event, although we cannot be aware of what “games” political or other are behind the final decision. After all, we talk about Italy. Let’s also not forget the Winter Olympic Games 2016 took place in Milan (and Cortina) and in Turin in 2006.

So, it is almost clear that we will not see Commissario Montalbano (aka Luca Zingaretti) in the hosting spot as Alessandro Cattelan’s name emerged immediately after the country. Although Commissario Montalbano is one of the top RAI products in TV ratings and export abroad in 65 countries, the final telemovie aired on 13/9 and now there is another need.
The need to promote the expensive new TV show in which Cattelan is starring. Alessandro Cattelan, an Italian television personality, is known for presenting TRL Italy, the Italian version of Total Request Live broadcast by MTV Italia, and Le Iene, broadcast by Mediaset’s Italia 1. He hosted the Italian version of The X Factor (Italy) from 2011 to 2020.
Cattelan is a devoted fan of the football club Inter Milan and is often present in the stadium and training sessions of the team. During the 2018โ19 season, Cattelan presented with Chadia Rodriguez the Italian daily talk show “EPCC – e poi c’รจ Cattelan”, on-air on Sky Uno. He has also been nominated as a possible candidate for co-hosting the 2020 Sanremo Music Festival.
The new TV show in which Cattelan will star is titled “De Grande” and RAI is afraid of the TV ratings with huge competition from the other broadcasters (and there are more than many in the country) as the budget for that project is extremely high. One interesting thing is that this product will be aired from… Milan!
