POLAND – TVP and the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage have published their own statement in which they do not agree with this assignment of the competition in the UK. In the announcement, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Piotr Gliลski, the President of TVP, Jacek Kurski, and the member of the Board of Directors of TVP, Mateusz Matyszkowicz, deplore the withdrawal of Ukraine’s right to host the Eurovision Song Contest. Television and ministry directors do not agree with the arbitrary treatment of the issue. At the same time, they expressed their support for the Ukrainian broadcaster.
“The Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland and the Board of Directors of TVP (Telewizja Polska) deplore the fact that the European Broadcasting Union has decided to remove the right to host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2023 from the public of UA: PBC and has started talks with the BBC on the organization of this event. Eurovision Song Contest. We declare our continued support to the Ukrainian public broadcaster in the search for such an organizational model for the Eurovision 2023 competition, which will take into account the greatest possible participation of Ukrainian artists and producers as well as the public from Ukraine.”

EBU has not officially commented on these new reactions from Ukraine and Poland. It is worth mentioning that the Polish television had reacted publicly to the cancellation of the rating of its committee while it had expressed interest in hosting the 2023 competition together with Ukraine (countries bordering the South East of Poland).
