UKRAINE – Eurofans are furious with the video from Vidbir final showing Jamala asking Maruv if she considers Crimea as Ukrainian territory. You can see the obvious fright Maruv’s face has and it’s clear that she was bullied by the judge.
Of course no one denies thee right for patriotism and what happened to Ukraine was internationally criticised. But the show which calls people to deal with a song contest cannot gives steps to political questions.
Instead of asking something relative to the performance, Jamala asked Maruv an uncomfortable (according to her) question about Crimea, most likely pretending she is a journalist in Tel Aviv during a press conference. Even that is harsh especially in a moment when Maruv was expecting comments about her song entry.
Jamala ranked Maruv, third but the signer says she did it only with musical criteria… Well she convinced no one and checking Twitter we can see the anger against Jamala.
Early this morning Maruv posted a detailed announcement. She referred the the harsh rules of the contract she is about to sign, which not only forbids her to give a concert in Russia but also giving u very copyright and chance to earn a single Hryvna.
She also escalates the contract harshness by pointing out that giving up here right to UA:PBC and Warne Music International might bring beer obligations for appearances in places the artist might not wish.
Once again she says she is 100% Ukrainian in her beliefs and that there are people who try to force her to withdraw. She asked for international and independent press and media to support her and pressure four things to change.
In the meantime, no public reaction by the EBU (butt somehow we believe there is an action backstage).
