NORWAY – MGP 2020 winner Ulrikke Brandstorp performed once again at Allsang på Grensen, the Norwegian music show broadcasted by TV2 every summer since 2007.
Well-known Norwegian and Swedish musicians some of which appeared at Melodi Grand Prix and Melodifestivalen are annually performing in the show. But it’s not the first time we saW Ulrikke performing.
Ulrikke Brandstorp performed her song “Attention” which was supposed to take part in Eurovision 2020. She also performed a cover of “Shallow” last year together with Ben Adams singer of British-Norwegian boy band A1.
In a press release, NRK confirmed that a Melodi Grand Prix (MGP) final will be held with ten finalists which will include the semifinal system that was used to determine the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 representative.
Ulrikke Brandstorp, also known simply as Ulrikke, is a Norwegian singer, songwriter and musical actress. She is known for participating in the Norwegian singing competitions Idol (2013), The Voice (2015) and Stjernekamp (2018).
In 2019, she played the role of Liesl in the musical The Sound of Music, performed in the Folketeateret in Oslo.
In 2020, she won Melodi Grand Prix 2020 with the song “Attention” and was supposed to represent Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 held in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
However, on March 18th 2020, the event was cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak. She was offered direct entry to the finals of Melodi Grand Prix 2021 but has so far declined the offer to compete in 2021.
She had previously participated in Melodi Grand Prix 2017, in which she finished in fourth place with the song “Places”.
