UKRAINE – This year’s Eurovision is special for Ukraine. No one would have expected that the Ukrainians could even see the competition. And yet the competition was regularly broadcast on television and online media as Ukrainians struggle to keep it running.
A special moment was shared on Instagram by the Ukrainian network Suspilne, co-responsible with the UA: PBC for the country’s representation in Eurovision: The live TV commentator Timur Miroshnychenko made this year’s broadcast from a shelter in Kyiv.
In fact, we had the opportunity to see a snapshot of the venue during the live broadcast of the 1st semifinal.

In the published photos, Mirosnichenko can be seen sitting in a small office surrounded by a camera, lights and electronic equipment, but also with a red carpet warming the inhospitable space.
Timur Miroshnychenko broadcast live on both YouTube and the public television channel UA: CULTUREO, and as he stated, the choice of the shelter was made so that there would be no interruptions and noises from air raids.

Miroshnychenko has been commenting on the Eurovision Song Contest in Ukraine since 2007. He has presented Junior Eurovision 2009 with Ani Lorak and Junior Eurovision 2013 with Zlata Ognevich. We met him as one of the three presenters of Eurovision 2017 that took place in Kyiv.
Timur did a live with Go_A Kateryna Pavlenko before the start of the Eurovision 2022 Grand Final (see the first part of the video).
