HANOVER, GERMANY – We love drama, scandals and all the hot stuff the Eurovision world is made of. Unser Song für Österreich 2015 concluded last night with Andreas Kümmert declared the winner of the grand German final, qualifying within the night in all three rounds and despite his mediocre performance. When the hostess awarded him the trophy and therefore the ticket to Vienna, Andreas shocked everyone saying: “Thanks for your support, Germany, but right now I’m not in the right condition to do this and I want to give the chance to Ann Sophie. I’m just a little singer and she is the better choice.”
Aside there was the runner up, Ann Sophie who was stunned while listening to Andreas decision. The hostess therefore offered the trophy and the Eurovision ticket to Ann Sophie who didn’t know what to reply. Barbara Schöneberger asks Andreas if this is his final decision and asked the audience if they want Ann Sophie to Vienna. After some stressful moments, Ann Sophie crowned the USFÖ 2015 winner and performed her Eurovision 2015 entry “Black Smoke”.
ARD Head of Entertainment, Thomas Schreiber said during the press conference that he already knew that this will happen and remind the press and media of his previous behaviour in The Voice of Germany in 2013 where there were problems with his behaviour.
Ann Sophie on the other hand said that “we need to give some space to Andreas and find himself, he is a great artist and i understand why he couldn’t do the Eurovision thing and it’s OK. He is a brave man and spoke out of his heart and everyone should listen through their hearts to what he said.
Focus Magazine said that during a concert Andreas was verbally abusive to the audience and Stern Magazine published information about his health before the show, something the artist himself admitted during the show as he had a fever of 40 degrees.
