PORTUGAL – The singer Vânia Fernandes, representative of Portugal at the Eurovisão Song Contest 2008, joined the project “Visita Cantadas“, promoted by MUDAS, Museum of Contemporary Art of Madeira, in Calheta.
The singer performed “Senhora do Mar” and “Silêncio e Tanta Gente” in the vicinity of the museum, with the two videos to be made available on Youtube of Cultura Madeira SRTC.
Winner of the 2008 FESTIVAL DA CANCAO, Vânia Fernandes represented Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade with “Senhora do Mar (Negras Águas)”, a song by Andrej Babic and Carlos Coelho.
The song came in 2nd in the semifinal, winning Portugal’s 1st qualification for the Grand Final, where it ended in 13th place, the second-best Portuguese result in the last twenty years.
