NORTH MACEDONIA – The government party which recently won again the elections might give hope to his re-affirmation for Rotterdam 2021 but Vasil is not waiting and he is releasing his newest single and music video “PriKazna” (Story) on his official YouTube account.
This is the second project since the release of his 2020 Eurovision entry YOU, the song he was to be representing North Macedonia at the 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam.
Sticking to his conceptual style, aesthetic, and hidden messages, this time we see Vasil in an even more unique approach with style, movements, and body language, expressing his story as a self battle with the actual circumstances, capturing and addressing the present times we all live and face globally – which is exactly how the song starts: “Hey, what the heck is happening to me?”
Vasil wrote the song himself, Tanja Brkovska is the lyricist, and the arranger is his musical partner in crime Davor Jordanovski, North Macedonian musician and producer living and working in Canada. The production team behind the video is Digital Box, with Jelmaz Dervishi as creative director. This single will be featured on VASIL’s album to be completed by the end of the year.
Vasil Garvanliev started his musical journey at age 7, performing at some of the most popular North Macedonian children’s festivals.
At age 12, together with his family, he moved to the United States where he continued his career as a soloist at the Chicago Children’s Choir.
Educated at some of the world’s most prestigious music schools, including Academia Liricia Italiana in Milan, the University of Toronto Opera School and the Royal Conservatory of Music Glenn Gould in Toronto, Vasil has performed at some of the world’s most respected festivals.
Since his return to North Macedonia in 2018, Vasil has released several successful pop songs and has held solo concerts.
