THE NETHERLANDS – VENGABOYS vocalist Robin Pors said “We can represent the UK.” He clearly liked James Newman’s “Embers” and wonders why it received zero points.
“I was so embarrassed because the UK was so good.” “The song was good, and the singer was good, but they said, ‘Whatever, zero points.’ “How was that even possible? We’re going to plan it for next year. We adore the United Kingdom.”
The fact that the competition will take place in Italy could be a good sign. We’re sure we weren’t the only ones who mistook their hit “We’re Going to Ibiza” for “We’re Going to Eat Pizza” at first!
That song, as well as “Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom,” topped the UK Singles Chart.
Kim Sasabone, Denise Post-Van Rijswijk, and Donny Latupeirissa were named the best-selling dance group of the year at the World Music Awards in 2001.
The group has a genuine passion for Eurovision. They performed alongside Eurovision stars Eleni Foureira, Conchita, and Loreen on the Open Sea Cruises October voyage in 2018.
The band is currently on another global tour, with five more dates in Canada before heading to the United Kingdom in October.
They’ll visit Hastings and Tyne & Wear before continuing on to Spain, Denmark, Ireland, the United Kingdom (again), the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Latvia.
