BRUSSELS, BELGIUM – Last night three Cypriot Eurostars gathered in Brussels at the Palais des beaux arts (Palace of Fine Arts) for a special ‘Cyprus Unplugged’ Concert in benefit of the current financial crisis in the country.
The event was organised by a Cypriot European Commissioner and we must say it was more then worth for the over 1,200 people attending the event! First a touching cypriot movie on the crisis was shown, it was deadly silence in the hall.
However the highligt of the event was undoubtably the performances of the Eurostars. This year’s Cypriot entrant Despina Olympiou hit first the stage and proved once again to be a great vocalist. Then it was time for 3 time Eurovision entry Constantinos Christoforou.
The guy took the audience by hearts and performed several great tunes including Celine Dion’s ‘Pour que tu m’aimes encore’. Both Constantinos and Despina performed together in a very nice duet with their voices blending greatly!
But of course the top of the bill was no less then Greek/Cypriot superstart Anna Vissi. What a show-animal the cypriot diva still is! Anna kept on performing, going into the audience, touching the people’s heart with taking a young girl on stage. She performed much longer then foreseen but people really adored it and donated greatly for the benefit.
One word: it was a memorable event with three great artists that gave a fantastic concert! Congratulations Despina, Constantinos and Anna, we all love you!
