HASSELT, BELGIUM – Last Saturday Lisa del Bo, the 1996 Belgian entry with ‘Liefde is een kaartspel’ (Love is like a card game) gave her second gala concert to celebrate her 25 years in the music industry.
Other Eurostars like Liliane St-Pierre (1987) and Micha Marah (1979) attended the concert to give support to their colleague.
Lisa started her career as grand winner of the 1990 edition of the Soundmixshow, which can be seen of the early version of Your face sounds familiar (although back then not with established singers). Lisa participated in the 1993 national final for Eurovision but ended third. She got though her revenge by winning the 1996 national final and represented Belgium in Oslo, ending in a respectable 16th place, gaining among 12 Points from Spain.
During all the year Lisa released many albums and kept on performing on a very regular basis, being considered as one of the most loveable people to work with among the Flemish singers.
Last night she performed with a 11-member live band and was joined also by several Belgian and dutch singers who have been important to Lisa during all those years. Amongst them was John Terra who composed the 1996 ESC-entry. She also performed next to her Eurovision entry the 1969 UK entry as well as a dutch version of the 2014 dutch entry from the Common Linnets. She performed along with her son.
Lisa del Bo proved again she still can do it very well and mostly important that the audience still adores her and consider the singer as one of us, with no arrogance at all! Lisa we love, hope to hear many more things in the future!
