LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM – Conchita Wurst attended the Eurovision 60th Anniversary Conference as special guest. She was interviewed over her experience since winning Eurovision and how it has impacted in her life.
Conchita noted how happy she was to be able to share moments with celebrities in Hollywood, noting how she met Meryl Streep. Also how her father called her to congratulate her on her success and ongoing publicity drive.
On more serious points, she stated that the fight against discrimination in Western Europe wasn’t over, the fight was not only about gay right, but being a different colour, religion or creed.
Conchita is looking forward to co-present at this years’ contest in Vienna. She will be in the green room but recalled her own time there and how having a presenter present doesn’t make you feel any less nervous.
She did note however that she will be grandmother to everyone and heavily criticised the negative reception given to Russian artists lately. Pointing how las year, the Russian participants were distraught at all the booing aimed towards them. “They were just performers, they do not make the laws”, Conchita noted.
