AUSTRIA – Filipino-Austrian singer Vincent Bueno will be part of the Austrian version of Broadway-hit “Miss Saigon”.
In a Facebook post, he shared on October 1, the former Austrian Eurovision Song Contest representative will be the 2nd cover for the character of Thuy, the Vietnamese army officer.
“I will be covering James Park, as Thuy, together with Helge Mark as the 1st Cover,” he wrote. “I’ve such huge respect for every individual in this cast, because it not only requires your utmost professionalism, but your vulnerability and sincerity, in terms of how to deal with war, separation, racism, hate, etc.”
Bueno said it was a huge honour on his part to be part of the new adaptation of Miss Saigon.
“Being able to play in Miss Saigon is a massive opportunity, to point out these very crucial and important issues,” he wrote. “I see this whole Miss Saigon Trip as a journey, to exchange stories and learn from our individual life experiences.”
It is not the first time Bueno did something related to Miss Saigon. He had covered the song “Why God Why” during his appearance at the Austrian talent show “MUSICAL! Die Show,” which he won in 2008.
Bueno, who had performed on the variety show ASAP, recently represented Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest in May with the song, “Amen.”
