After Eurovision 2012 which was shrouded in human rights issues, the last thing that anyone expected was for Sweden to develop problems but first we head about crime-ridden Malmoe and now it turns out that SVT may have hired a construction company that exploits workers.
Swedish radio has claimed that SVT hired the construction company “Stage Fright” who once the contract was announced, President Mikael Jacobsson informed his workers that they would be working 12 hour days for 20 consecutive days in exchange for 85 Euros a day. That amount of money will not get one very far in Sweden.
One worker who chose to complain, was immediately dismissed as ready replacements were immediately available.
SVT claim that all regulations are followed and that working conditions are normal, while Mr Jacobsson claims that he is running a serious business, although he has also refused to talk to the media about the allegations.
