Too many things are weird this year and although it seems to be a decision of the Reference Group we see (after discussion with many broadcasters) that no one is complaining about it! We are talking about the split voting results and about the televoting figures per country.
The national broadcasters have still no access to their country’s televoting results. This is why all sites recently report only on jury results when available and published by national broadcasters. We cannot report you on their televoting results because DIGAME and EBU didn’t allow the information reaching the national broadcasters. Why?
The initial confusion with the split results was a very well organized plan: EBU released the information under a confusing title which made lots of media and press to believe that it was the actual split voting. But it was only a statistic reference to how the average ranking of all countries was based on separate telelvoting and jury voting.
We have no idea how the results would be under only televoting and under only jury voting. Why is that? What’s hidden begind it? Since they keep this information a secret we have to wonder: Did actually Denmark won one of it? Does EBU know that many media across Europe refer to their average ranking results as the actual split voting as it was the final jury / televoting split result creating totally false impressions about several countries!
We all understand that split voting per country would not be a safe information to share but why the overall split results are hidden? and even worst: why national broadcasters complain to private discussions with us and they don’t dare to pose this matter to the EBU itself? After all EBU is paid by them, so we would like to suggest them to stop moaning to us in our private chats and start complaint like adults to their official organizer!
we have asked the EBU for explanations
