MALTA – Yesterday there was a big fuzz in the local press in Malta regarding the statements of EBU’s Executive Supervisor Mr Jon Ola Sand on the subject if Ira Losco is allowed by the Eurovision rules to change her song.
The interesting question though, no one really asked was why Jon Ola Sand visited Malta? It is clear to us that European Broadcasting Union and PBS are about to announce that Malta will officially host the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
In November when EBU decided to launch the tender for the Family Events services and the removal of Vlad Yakovlev from Junior Eurovision, it was stated that EBU is re-examining the format of the event.
There are also information – non secure and confirmed – that TVM CEO Anton Attard might have soon an EBU role.
No matter which information will be confirmed in the end, the sure thing is that there is no Eurofan who feels that Malta shouldn’t host the 2016 Junior Eurovision edition.
Therefore we all await for the developments…
