PARIS, FRANCE – Singer Kendji Girac has been shortlisted as a possible French representative at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest following his ambiguous response to a question on whether he would like to represent his country in Stockholm.
Girac, who is the winner of the third season of the voice, said, “Actually, I have never asked this to myself. And with my return which will be very busy, I admit that I wouldn’t know how to respond to such a request”.
The 19-year-old has become extremely popular following his win in the reality signing contest early last year. His debut album hit number one in both France and Belgium and he has sold more than a million records and is one of the biggest stars in his country.
Several high-profile names have already ruled out the possibility of representing France at Eurovision including Indila.
