The Ukrainian winner of Eurovision 2004 was in Antwerp for the 2013 Pride. Ruslana talked to oikotimes.com with great pleasure and actually we cought up since our meeting with her in Athens last February.
We asked Ruslana several things. First she told us about her upcoming plans which include a new style of music which will be more personal. Then we asked her about possible participation in the upcoming Junior Eurovision. She kindly congratulated last year’s Ukrainian winner but she said that Ukraine hasn’t money for something big. Anyway she will not be included in the organization as she will be in the US and Brazil by November.
Then we asked her how she feels performing in a gay festival and also having gay fans. She said she is thrilled because they are amazing people. They understand her and that’s all she needs. Then the recent anti-gay law in Russia popped up. Her answer stunning: “Although I will perform in Sochi, I think what’s going in Russia is … stupid”
She also spoke about her dedicated fans who follow her all over Europe on their own costs and she greeted the fans of oikotimes.com. You can see below the full interview in video.
