BELGRADE, SERBIA – Yugoslav and Serbian singer, Zorana Lola Novaković, passed away in Belgrade today aged 83. She represented Yugoslavia at the 1962 Eurovision Song Contest in Luxembourg with the entry “Ne pali svetla u sumrak” (Don’t turn the lights on at twilight) achieving 4th place. She previously won the Jugovizija national selection where she competed against 11 other acts. Lola Novaković was one of Serbia’s most famous singers, starting her career in 1957. She went on to record a number of hits with her popularity peaking during the 1960s.
